The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting North Sumatra through four entrances in July 2020 reached 144 visits, an increase of 45.45 percent compared to those who came in June 2020 to reach 99 visits. However, when compared to the same month in 2019, the number of foreign tourists in July 2020 decreased by 99.35 percent, from 22,224 visits in July 2019 to 144 visits.

In July 2020, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the largest visitors with 42 visits or 29.17 percent of the total foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra.

The room occupancy rate (TPK) of star hotels in North Sumatra in July 2020 reached an average of 26.92 percent, or an increase of 6.80 points compared to June 2020 of 20.12 percent.

The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star hotels in July 2020 reached 1.47 days, down 0.01 points compared to June 2020.

The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra via Kualanamu International Airport during July 2020 reached 62,907 people, or an increase of 120.21 percent compared to June 2020 which reached 28,567 people.

The number of (domestic) inter-island sea transport passengers departing in July 2020 was recorded at 695 people, an increase of 1,236.54 percent compared to the previous month of 52 people
